The area of SR8 also includes attractive villages such as Port Clarence, Easington and Crimdon. There are two nature reserves, Crimdon Dene and Easington Country Park, as well as various other attractions, including The National miners Museum, loco sheds, coal mines, a café and gift shop.

Hartlepool also has a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and retail parks. The town centre has recently undergone redevelopment to improve the shopping and entertainment experience for locals and visitors alike. The postcode area is served by excellent transport links, with great rail and road access. Nearby Hartlepool railway station provides regular services to cities such as Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sunderland and York.
