Double Parking, Obstructing Footpaths, 19th May
The car parking at a local business is not big enough so the Patrons of this local business choose to park on Ivy House Road. Parking on each side of the road from the junction with Well Lane down to the corner and even beyond into Long Valley Road. Causing effectively a road wide enough for one vehicle instead of two vehicles. Double parking cars, vans and builder trucks on the footpaths. Obstructing the footpath with the vehicles, causing problems for residents trying to park in front of their own properties and trying to get in/out of their own drives with their own cars. Some of the Patrons of this business think it is OK to pull into residents drives to turn around. Residents have contacted the local authority for help and even asked the Police for help in the past with no effect. Local authority won't do anything and despite it being an offence to double park, obstruct access, trespass onto private property and park with one or more wheels on a public footpath the Police won't take any action against the people committing these offences to deter this minor but, illegal actions. Would the Patrons of this business like it if it was their roads, in front of their homes this was happening in, be happy about what is happening in Ivy House Road? I think that would most definitely be a NO! This is a ongoing problem forever because the residents can't get any help to resolve this issue.

Sainsburys delivery van blocking footpath, 24th February
At 19.00 24/02/2022 it appeared that Sainbury's delivery van driver decided to take a break by extremely inconsiderately, parking on the footpath at Washington close Biddulph, Old folk's bungalows. Blocking most of the width of the footpath leaving approximately 12 inches of footpath to actually walk on. Some of the People that live at Washington close are unsteady on their feet and would have to walk on the road in the dark to get around the Sainsburys delivery van. Very inconsiderate and potentially dangerous safety issue.

Deep pot hole on a main road
Report on FixMyStreet
There are lay-bys on the road with bins, 23rd December
The lay byes are used especially at night when people in cars stop to look at the view ( ?? ). There are bins provided but they are open topped which is not good as it’s very windy on the ridge, rubbish gets blown out if people have bothered to put it in the bin in the first place. I have driven past lots of times and witnessed people just opening their windows and dropping rubbish on the floor.

Overgrown Edge Obstructing Public Footpath, 16th August
The Hedge is obstructing approximately half the width of the Gully that runs between Sandy Road and the walking bridge that goes over Biddulph Valley Way, near to Washington Close. This has been allowed to progressively encroached over the Footpath by Local Authority over a number years until it has come to a point where as, if it is allowed to continue, the Gully will soon get to the point of becoming impassable. The first Photo clearly shows the original width of the public footpath where the fence is and demonstrates how much the edge is obstructing it. At its narrowest part it is barely shoulder width and when walking through this Gully if you meet someone coming from the other direction it is impossible to pass making it impossible to keep socially distanced in these times with COVID. When the Hedge is wet with the rain it is impossible not to get soaking wet brushing past the wet Hedge. I have tried to report this problem on the Local Authority Website but, found that I am not able to find an option to report this particular problem on their Website because it doesn't actually come under the Highways and Footpath section for Reporting Issues. Even though this Gully is actually a publicly used tarmac footpath.
