Congleton Edge Road, just past Heather Bank Farm( also called Dreamcatcher Meadow on map, 23rd December
Main Pot hole is 1.5 metres long, 0.5 metres wide and 10 cm deep.. there is another small pothole in front of it. There is also 2/ 3 other potholes a few metres on the other side of the highway. Each of those is 0.5wide and long. And again c10cm deep. The whole section of the road requires resurfacing. Given the Christmas break residents have put temporary stone into the potholes to prevent damage/ injury. I do find it astonishing that the council have white circled some deep potholes on the road over a month ago and no further action taken. Indeed a prev resident reported pothole only several hundred metres further up the road was filled in only a few days ago requiring 2 vehicles, some 4 men and probably 3 shovel full of tarmac. But they had to drive over the several deep potholes I’m now reporting. Surely this cannot be cost effective. There are so many potholes on Congleton Edge Road, whilst residents should be more proactive to report pothole issues, the appearance of white paint around some of these leads us to believe action is in hand when nothing happens.. whilst a minor road, it is very busy particularly with visiting walkers/ horses and cyclists and as such becoming dangerous as cars manoeuvre around potholes and the worn out road which is narrowing due to erosion and lack of maintenance.

On Congleton Edge Road, just before Brough, Hillside Farm, 15th November
One deep pothole approx 35cms square and c12cm deep. Adjacent is smaller pothole that also requires attention. Concern is that the potholes are just on a sharp bend which cyclists going down Congleton Edge road would struggle to see and adjust.

Congleton Edge Rd near Broughs Hillside Farm, 31st May
Hi - Damage caused by Bin Wagon cutting the corner and damaging the Gulley bank between water flow and road. The Gulley would require clearing to allow water flow, although given the amount of water at this point and little upstream there could also be damaged pipes.

Continual Flooding - no sign of work being carried out, 31st January
There has been continual flooding in Mow Lane/Newbold Astbury for the last months, continual road closures, pot holes and just unacceptable conditions in this area with no clear plan from Cheshire Highways to rectify this. Again road closure signs put in place with no clear diversion signage and no sign of any workers actually doing anything with the road. This is now becoming a serious issue for those travelling and living in this area. Please contact us to advise what is being done about resolving the continual flooding to this area.
