ISSUE: Tackle vehicle crime in Panshanger.
ACTION: Regular patrols have been conducted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Panshanger. Officers have also increased awareness of the importance of locking vehicles and removing valuables to deter opportunist thieves. They have done this by checking door handles to see if vehicles have been left unlocked and where they have speaking to the owners to encourage them to secure their vehicles.
As a result there has been a marked decrease in the number of reports of vehicle crime in the area. Officers are looking to implement some of the proactive measures in other areas nearby to combat/prevent similar crime trends.
