The embankment beside the southbound slip road at Jct 29A has an infestation of the invasive and potentially hazardous Giant Hogweed. If this is left to flower and go to seed it will spread to nearby fields and habitation which could bring it in to contact people, particularly children. As such it needs to be dealt with ASAP.

Pothole, 23rd March
There appears to be a large and deep pothole south bound around M1 Jct 29a. I was only able to see it last minute due to the winter sun which caused me to hit it at 60mph and it violently hit my driver front and rear wheel. After hitting the pothole I have started to feel a rattle and shake in my car. This has the potential not only to cause damage to vehicles (I will have to have my car checked following this incident) but would be especially dangerous for motorcyclists.

When you join m1 from junction 29a Markham Vale, 4th January
When you join m1 from junction 29a Markham Vale and you are driving left lane there is big pothole - approx after a minute or two of driving. Towards South Normanton Pinxton junction there are plenty of potholes on left lane. However the first one from junction 29a is the worst one. It's like 2 potholes joined together and separated by tiny bit of tarmac. Once this bit is gone there will be massive one and more dangerous than now. Whole left lane between junction 29a and 28 has lots of potholes though....

There appears to be a pothole/cutout just off the M1 Jct 29a where the sliproad begins. It appears to be man made i.e a result of some roadworks but only saw it at the very last minute which caused me to hit it at 60mph and it violently hit my offside front and rear wheel and rattled the suspension. This has the potential not only to cause damage to vehicles (I will have to have my car checked following this incident) but would be especially dangerous for motorcyclists.

Litter on the slip road coming off the m1, 23rd March
Dear Highways Agency,
I am writing to express my deep concern about the current state of the UK's motorways. On my daily commute I have been increasingly dismayed by the amount of litter and debris that has been left behind on roadsides and verges. This is an urgent problem that needs to be addressed as it not only ruins the aesthetic of our motorways but also results in an accident risk from obstacles thrown into the carriageway.
It uis appalling to see people carelessly discarding their rubbish in such an irresponsible manner. Recent figures from Keep Britain Tidy reveal this to be a growing problem, with the amount of litter on our roads increasing year-on-year. I urge your agency to concentrate its efforts on tackling this issue and put more resources into initiatives that will make our motorways safer and more pleasant for everyone who uses them.

As you come off the slip road the whole way down is absolutely full of rubbish! Cans, paper everywhere it really is a disgusting look! Please could you get this cleaned up! It is not good for animals that wil get trapped in debris
