Due to its large area and diverse geographical make-up, the area is used for joint UK training with nations such as the United States and Canada. Geologically, the area is composed of chalk hills, streams and rivers, with a large number of meadows and woodlands, as well as several aggregate quarries.

This postcode has a diverse population, with many families from military backgrounds living in the area. A lot of the families have been stationed here for a number of generations, and this has created a strong sense of community. Other people who live in this area are retirees, professionals and families looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

The local area is full of things to do, including outdoor pursuits, historic sites, pubs and restaurants. There are also a number of local parks and attractions, such as Tidworth Leisure Centre, Alice Holt Forest, the army museum of Wiltshire and Tidworth Polo Club. There are also numerous cycle rides and trails, as well as excellent horse riding opportunities.

The area also boasts some excellent schools, ranging from Ofsted Outstanding to good, such as Langdown Primary School, Tidworth Leisure Centre and the local christian Bluecoat School. The local community strongly believes in the importance of education, which is why there are so many options available to students of all abilities and backgrounds.
