Existing roadways also connect Amesbury to Snow Hill and Stonehenge, and the A360 spans from Salisbury to Salisbury Plain.

For education, the postcode area has five primary schools, two secondary schools and two further education colleges. Salisbury also has a university campus which is a part of the University of Wiltshire and the Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum is located in the centre of the city. For culture, the city has an Arts Centre and Theatre, Salisbury Cathedral and the Close, and the Salisbury Cathedral Music Department.

For recreation, there are four parks within the postcode area with Salisbury city park, Hudson's Field, Greencroft Gardens and Laverstock Park. The area is also known for its nature reserves, such as the Dinton Pastures Nature Reserve and the Salisbury Plain Nature Reserve, both of which are home to a diverse range of wildlife.
