Kintbury is a small village situated in the area, and is one of the smallest parishes in the district. It is a popular spot with walkers, and is well-known for its 19th century canal architecture. The village is home to a number of independent businesses and restaurants.

Lambourn is the largest village in RG17, home to the famous Lambourn racehorse stables and a large number of racing trainers. The town has grown significantly in recent years due to its popularity with the horse racing industry. Several independent shops have been set up, as well as pubs and restaurants, to cater to the needs of the racing community.

The village of Boxford in RG17 is a picturesque village situated in a valley of the Berkshire Downs. The village is filled with historic buildings, including the 16th century Queen Anne's Chocolate House.

Compton is a small village situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and is home to a number of small businesses. The village has a small shop and cafe, and is also popular with walkers and cyclists exploring the stunning downland countryside.

The village of Denford is situated close to Hungerford and shares much of its history. It is home to a few pubs and restaurants, as well as a small shop.

Shalborne is a small village of very attractive period cottages dating back to the 17th century. There is an 18th century pub, The Red Lion, situated in the centre of the village.

RG17 is a popular area to live, with easy access to nearby countryside to explore. The postcode area also provides easy access to towns and cities outside of the area, such as Reading and Swindon, for those who wish to commute.
