Nearby Stratton is a large village situated within the parish of Bude-Stratton and also offers a number of coastal walks and beaches.

Torrington lies between Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks and is home to several historic buildings such as the Guildhall and a restored 15th century church. It is also home to the South West Coast path, a 630 mile continuous national trail running the length of the Devon and Cornwall coastline.
