Additionally, the area is a very popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts, as it is home to a wide array of sea birds and marine mammals. seals, otters, dolphins, and porpoises are all frequent visitors to the area, and the nearby islands are home to a huge number of seabirds.

The main town and traditional county town of the Orkney Islands is Kirkwall, located in the KW1 postcode. It is a pleasant, bustling town with a medieval feel and plenty to explore.
