Beamish is another small village located between Leadgate and Annfield Plain. This village is mainly known for its open-air museum, which contains a variety of showcase buildings which contains artefacts, traditional costumes and information about 19th and 20th century life in the North East of England.

Dipton lies to the south of Beamish, and is a much smaller village with a population of around 700. It is home to the Dipton Mill which is a grade II listed building.

Shotley Bridge is a town located to the west of Beamish, with a population of 8,000. It is a popular tourist destination due to its history, with its riverside park and mill being recognised nationally for its beauty. Catchgate is a small town located to the south of Shotley Bridge with a population of 2,000.

The NE49 postcode contains a variety of settlements with a range of history and features. It is a beautiful area full of things to see and do, with its residents being proud of their town and its heritage.
