The eastern end of Blaydon and parts of Crawcrook are home to some larger housing developments and the postcode benefits from access to local amenities like convenience stores, pubs, and takeaways. The junction of the A695 and A694 form one of the main arterial routes through the NE42 postcode area, connecting the area to surrounding places such as Prudhoe, Hexham, Rowlands Gill, and Winlaton.
