Pot hole - Getting bigger & harder to avoid…, 18th April
As you drive away from the 4 way temporary lights at the junction of West Street/Gawcott Road/ Twyford Road on the left hand side on Steeple Claydon Road almost opposite the set of temporary traffic lights there is a large pothole that is getting bigger daily. If cars waiting at the temporary lights are not over on their side you cannot avoid this pothole. Co-ordinates approximately - 51.92883•N, 1.02235• W

Large dangerous pothole., 18th April
As you are driving towards the 4 way temporary roadworks after turning left out of Portway Road from Twyford onto this road (Steeple Claydon Road) there is one large and a smaller pothole.
If there is a car coming the other way you have to wait until it is clear to drive around the large pothole - this caused another road user to have road rage with me tonight as I was not prepared to damage my car by driving into this pothole.

Multiple unavoidable potholes, 17th April
There are multiple potholes as you turn onto this road after/through the roadwork lights heading towards Steeple Claydon. Approximate coordinates 51.93340'N, 1.01578' W.
Whist vehicles are waiting at the temporary traffic lights on the opposite side of the road you do not have the option to avoid the numerous large potholes on the left hand side and in the middle of the road.

At the End of West Street (4 way traffic lights), 16th April
Multiple deep and dangerous potholes which were filled in not long ago have now reappeared and cars have no choice put to go through them due to the waiting traffic on the other side of the road due to the temporary lights.
Previous fix has lasted less than 2 months - needs looking at again urgently.

Outside Twyford Village Shop, 8th April
A “repair” was effected during a road closure a couple of weeks ago. Was it worth it!? The surface remains rough and the potholes are reappearing. A comparison of that work with that done successfully at Rosehill Crescent does suggest something quite different in the outcome. This is a particular problem as there appears to be an increase in HGVs mostly from HS2 on this road.

Large Potholes - Mill Lane, 4th April
2 large Potholes opposite 4th house Mill Lane. Largest one is 100m diameter, 10cm deep. Cannot avoid it as it’s in the turning circle to the driveway. - Has worsened since these pictures were taken.

School Hill near Main Street, 26th March
There is a BT concrete inspection cover that has been dislodged with damage to the supporting metal frame. It’s probably been caused by HGV’s cutting the corner. In it’s current state it’s a potential trip hazard

I was driving through Twyford from Steeple Claydon on my way towards Bicester. My front offside tyre hit the pothole identified damaging my tyre - see pictured sidewall bulge. I had all 4 tyres replaced in October 2023 at Kwikfit Bicester at a cost of £185ea. I am currently away from home but on my return next week I will be booking to have the damaged tyre replaced and I will be able to evidence that (as I can evidence the purchase of all 4 tyres fitted at towards the end of last year).

Outside Twyford Village Shop, 20th March
The entire width of the road is in disrepair; there are two significant potholes, one in the centre of the carriageway and the other at the side of the carriageway in the Bicester direction. This latter is virtually invisible to road users as it is, and has remained for weeks, full of water. These defects have been most recently reported five weeks ago but are an ongoing problem which has been the subject of temporary repairs for at least eighteen months. The road is not prohibited to HGVs and is also used by local farmers’ tractors and tankers. It is a danger.
