I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the persistent issue of potholes and poor tarmac conditions on the concerned location. Over the past 24 months these potholes have been reported numerous times and temporarily repaired. However, the repairs have proven inadequate, as the issue continues to resurface (including ongoing leaks for 8 months now), posing a significant risk to road users. The current state of the road not only affects the safety and well-being of residents and commuters but also has the potential to lead to safety-critical incidents. Given the repeated history of repairs and subsequent deterioration, I kindly request that a solid and sustainable action plan be implemented to address this matter effectively. This includes a thorough assessment of the roads condition and ensuring that repairs are performed to a long-lasting standard. Hence, road users are hugging the middle lane because they do not feel safe to use the left lane due to dangerous road conditions. I trust that the council is committed to ensuring public safety and maintaining road infrastructure to an acceptable standard. Please note that the council may bear responsibility for any serious incidents arising from these unresolved issues. I would appreciate a detailed response outlining the councils or TFL proposed plan and timeline for addressing this matter.
