The area around West Hampstead and Kilburn is becoming increasingly popular, with a number of major development schemes underway. These include the transformation of two former tube depots into purpose-built residential housing, a significant redevelopment of the Kilburn High Road, and the Brent Cross South project, which forms part of the Mayor of London's efforts to create jobs and tackle London's housing crisis.

In terms of parks, there is a selection of open spaces close by, including Fortune Green Park which is popular with dog-walkers, Queens Park which has several tennis courts and sports facilities, and Hampstead Heath which is a popular walking spot and offers panoramic views over London. The area also has many independent stores, bars and restaurants, as well as a few larger chains such as Tesco's, Asda and Sainsbury's.

The area is also noted for its cultural scene, with a number of galleries, theatres and live-music venues nearby, including the Roundhouse and Kilburn Grange Park. There are also a number of leisure and fitness facilities, including gyms, swimming pools and a number of sports clubs and societies.
