It also features the ExCeL Centre for events such as the annual London Marathon.
The Royal Docks is a coastal area between Canning Town and London City Airport. It was formerly an important port and is now the focus of regeneration, with many new residential developments and landscaped public spaces. There are also a number of lakes and erstwhile fisherman's cabins dotted around the area, with the closest lake being East India Dock.
The E6 postcode also encompasses the locales of Star Lane, Plaistow, Wallend, and Custom House. Star Lane is a residential hub and its shops champion East Asian culture, such as Chinese and South Asian. Plaistow is centred around Plaistow Park and features a vibrant shopping area with large department stores and independent outlets selling diverse cultures. Wallend is a historic area of industrial buildings, many of which are now being converted into residential apartments. Custom House is a relatively new business area of the district, with its name originating from the historic East India Custom House tariff station.

I think 10 years ago was a much better and quieter area and felt much better and safer then now it still is a k area to reside in much better and safer then a lot of local areas bit noisey its gone downhill since all eastern Europeans and all then foreign Europeans have came they all just stand on all the corners of the streets all night drinking and making noise all night along with leaving bottles glass bottles on the streets never clean up after there self's neither do they use a toilet I have literally seen human fieccis
