The LS27 postcode district was introduced in 2004. Prior to this, it was part of the LS11 postcode district. The area is located north-west of central Leeds and includes much of the city's industrial past.

LS27 is home to a number of internationally renowned businesses, such as Asda, Aviva, and Premier Foods. In addition, there are a number of leisure and cultural attractions, such as Morley Town Hall, the Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre, and Temple Newsam.

LS27 offers a range of housing options, from budget-friendly terraced properties to 3 and 4 bedroom detached homes. There is also an increasing number of new-builds, which provide well-appointed modern living.

The area is served by two railway stations - Morley and Tingley - providing direct connections to Leeds, Dewsbury and Wakefield. Lying close to the M62, it also benefits from good road transport links, making it popular with commuters.

The postcode area has a number of good schools, including Morley Town Primary, Churwell Primary School and The Marlowe Academy, a specialist arts school. Additionally, there is a local college in the area, Leeds City College, as well as a number of international language schools.

Local amenities include major supermarkets, banks, independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. As well as these, the area is also home to a number of parks and open spaces, such as Morley Leisure Centre, Beeston Park and Whitehall Country Park.

LS27 is a vibrant and thriving area, offering an array of housing options, educational facilities, retail and leisure facilities. The area is known for its strong local community and is a popular choice for families.
