The Ulverston Market hosts a variety of stalls selling local produce and crafts, and just outside of the town, the local farm shop at Torver offers organic local produce.

LA20 offers easy access to the nearby Lake District, as well as the popular tourist town of Grange-over-Sands. Just along the coast lies the town of Barrow-in-Furness, the birthplace of the Nuclear Submarine, as well as Furness Abbey, a Grade I listed building.

The town has a number of outdoor activities and sports facilities, including leisure parks, green spaces and footpaths. Ulverston also hosts the long running Cumbria Classic Car Show, as well as various entertainment, including the local theatre, the Coronation Hall, which sits at the heart of the town.

In terms of education, the postcode district ties in with Barrow-in-Furness College as well as the nearby Ulverston Victoria High School. Other local school options include Buckskinner Primary School, Furness Primary School, Abbotswood Primary School, Fellgate Primary School and Ford Park Schools.
