This is a diverse area. Originally a stronghold of Gaelic but now with a high number of people from out with the island. A quiet and afflluent area often with a large number of detached houses with splendid sea views. It is family friendly and socially safe. Parking is limited on single track roads. Beauty spots suffer greatly from overtourism.
