The HD2 postcode is a postcode district located in the Metropolitan district of Kirklees, located in the West Yorkshire county of England. The postcode district covers the towns of Birstall, Birkenshaw, Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike, Liversedge, and Gomersal.

The HD2 postcode district lies mainly on the valley floor, surrounding the Lindley, Armitage, and Ossett Clay Valleys and the River Calder floodplain. It is relatively low lying and is prone to flooding.

This postcode district is largely residential but offers some industrial and retail sites. It has a population of 18,800 and its economy is mainly based on medium and small businesses, especially in the textiles and manufacturing industries.

The towns in the HD2 district are located close to major roads and motorways such as the M62, M621, and M606, making it easy to access to major cities such as Leeds and Manchester. It is also within easy reach of the nearby railway stations, such as Dewsbury, Batley, and Wakefield, all of which provide direct services to London.

The HD2 postcode district is also close to several retail parks, such as the Birstall Shopping Park, and the many local shops, cafes, and pubs make it an attractive place to live. The district is also home to several leisure centres, sports facilities, a golf course, and two nature reserves.

Property prices in the HD2 postcode area are much lower than in other parts of the West Yorkshire area, and this makes it a desirable place for young people and families looking to buy a home. However, there is a shortage of affordable housing in the area, and this is a major issue facing residents.

TheHD2 postcode district is a pleasant place to live, with excellent transport connections and lots of local amenities. It is also home to some interesting historical buildings, such as the Kirklees Georgian Town Hall in Heckmondwike and the Armitage Bridge in Gomersal.
