To the south-east is Jacobs Well, a small village home to a pub, some shops and a primary school. It is also the site of the famous annual Jacobs Well Fair and Jacobs Well Gardens.

The area also includes some industrial and commercial estates, such as Slyfield industrial estate. It is home to a large business park, as well as the headquarters of a number of international companies.

Public transport links to Guildford are provided by local buses, including the No 7 bus route, and by an approximate 20 minute car journey from the town centre. The nearest train station is Guildford, and the nearest airport is Gatwick Airport.
