FIXMYSTREET IN EX24 6QT
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EX24 6QT:
Damage to brook wall and marker/protection posts., 19th April
Large tractors and dung spreaders have been travelling through the village damaging the posts protecting the brook. The road edge and brook wall are now breaking up. The damage in my view should be claimed from the known farmer causing the damage.

Damage to veteran oak trees., 21st August
The work on the new cycle way has damaged 2 of the veteran oak trees. Although they started with fencing around the trees to protect them, now they have moved the fences and scraped the ground under the canopy which has damaged the tree roots. I tried to put a preservation order on these trees last year, but was told that was not needed.

Parking on double yellow lines, 13th July
At this end of Govers Meadow there is a sharp left hand bend if you are approaching along Station Road/Dolphin Street. It is not possible to see around unless you move to the right hand side of Govers Meadow. This is dangerous and the parking is illegal. Not one specific vehicle. Vehicles are frequently parked at the other end of the road on a T-junction, again dangerous and illegal.

Double kerb, 13th June
This double kerd is a serious hazard for anyone using this as a right of way. There obviously was once a fence here and it has long since disappeared. Please can you reinstate the fence to try and prevent some poor unfortunate person breaking their ankles? Thankyou very much.

There is a beautiful mature Silver Birch (I think that's what it is) in the front garden of No. 6 Springfields, Colyford, that needs protecting., 11th June
The present owners of No. 6 Springfields, Colyford (EX24 6RE) love the tree, we are concerned that in the event that the property is sold the new owners could simply cut down this magnificent tree. Our estate is laid out with open plan front gardens so it feels more like a communal area than individual gardens. This tree deserves protecting. Over the past few years we have seen several houses change hands only for mature trees to be felled. Houses being bought with the trees in place then the new owners simply clear them out as if they do not matter. The tree is away from the property in a position that could not be built on etc. etc. so leaving it in place makes sense. Please, help us to protect our trees and neighbourhood.

Tree presevation order request, 17th October
This island opposite our house is privately owned but has had no maintenance done to it for at least 30 years. The residents have kept it tidy. The owner is attempting to sell the land and has cut down six trees already. The trees left are beech trees and are home to squirrels, pigeons, crows and woodpeckers.

This drain (in Church Street) has been blocked for some time. All the water and debris which flows down Higher Lane causes it to fill with gravel etc. The gully should be emptied regularly but I'm pretty sure it isn't.
