EH44 is a postcode district in Scotland, forming part of the Edinburgh post town. The area covers part of the civil parish of Currie in the City of Edinburgh council area. The district stretches from Kirknewton in the west to Juniper Green in the east, and includes Baberton, Balerno, Calder, Currie, Juniper Green and Kirknewton.

The district lies immediately south of the M9 and M8 motorways, and includes parts of the Water of Leith and the Braid Burn. The Braid Burn Reservoir and the Nine Mile Burn also form part of the area. A number of shops, supermarkets and banks lies within the district, including a Sainsbury's supermarket.

EH44 has a relatively high level of car ownership per capita, with many of the district's residents commuting to the city centre by taking the A702 road. The area also has several bus routes that link its various villages and hamlets to each other and to the centre of Edinburgh.

EH44 is a popular location for UK horse riding. The nearby Heriot-Watt riding centre provides both horseriding and hacking, while the Balerno Show is held at the village green each year in August.

Education is also all provided within the EH44 postcode, there being three primary schools (Currie Primary School, Balerno Community High School and Kirknewton Primary School). There are also five nurseries, as well as the West Calder and Rosewell Community High School in the eastern part of the district.

The area is home to a variety of places of worship, including an Episcopalian church at Balerno and a Methodist church in Juniper Green. The Currie Kirk is also a major place of worship in the district.

EH44 is a popular destination for many outdoor activities, with a number of parks throughout the district. Curriehill Wood is an ancient woodland dubbed the 'Cathedral of Trees', while nearby Victoria Reservoirs offer recreational opportunities in the warmer months.

EH44 is noted as being one of the more fashionable parts of Edinburgh, with a number of up-market bars and restaurants located within the district. The city centre itself is only a short journey away by car, while the Edinburgh International Airport is only eight miles away.
