Following the recent A2 repairs in the vicinity of the Whitfield roundabout North (Canterbury) bound, there is a slip road crossing the South bound carriageway giving access to Singledge Lane. The resurfacing work covered the dotted give way markings on the slip road which is causing some confusion to local drivers. Since the road is now unmarked, they are assuming it is an unmarked crossing and of the opinion that A2 traffic should give way to them. May I also suggest a cross hatched area to allow crossing when the roundabout is blocked by traffic.

Bag of rubbish left by council worker, 2nd September
This was left 3-4 months ago by council worker who dug up a path. It has been reported no end of times but been ignored. Its an eye sore.

Signage obstructed by trees/shrubs on A2 both directions between A256 and A258., 30th May
Some of the signs on both carriageways are barely visible because of overgrown trees and shrubs blocking them. This is a danger as the signs are for direction and safety. Vegetation has been allowed to grow over a long period and not maintained properly. Particularly dangerous as the A2 is a main route to the Port of Dover and is used by many foreign drivers who will be unused to the road and will be missing some safety signs. Requires urgent attention in this busy holiday period.

The road surface has been in a disgraceful state since before Christmas, I cannot understand why no repairs have been made, there are potholes/cracks large enough to cover both lanes

As you come out of Honeywood Road onto Whitfield Roundabout there are two large potholes on the roundabout that you cannot avoid and as such are having no choice but to hit them as you pull out onto a busy and dangerous roundabout.

Dangerous road defect, 17th January
On the left hand London-bound carriageway the side of the road has collapsed and left an extremely dangerous, deep and long trench. It appears that this has been reported many times and despite being a serious risk to road users nothing has been done. Local road users consistently comment on witnessing ‘near-misses’ - this route is heavily used by lorries and large vehicles leaving Dover port. Due to the tracking of such vehicles, their rear wheels often end up in this ditch and risk toppling over. If a caravan, trailer or any other road users vehicle went in this ditch it would be catastrophic. Something needs to be urgently done before there is a fatality.

Damaged/obscured roundabout layout sign, A2, 31st December
The Whitfield Roundabout layout/directional sign on the A2, north of Whitfield Roundabout is both obscured by vegetation and has peeling lettering, making most of the sign illegible. Please replace and cut back vegetation.

Giant Pothole A2, 23rd December
There is a huge pothole on the edge of the A2 as you approach this really busy roundabout. As lorries frequently use this roundabout cars are pushed towards this pothole and most cars given the size of this pothole would be severely damaged and likely cause a very serious accident. Don’t you think this road junction has enough challenges and accidents without a failure to maintain the road surface.

Rodent Infestation, 8th December
Local Resident reporting significant rodent population and sighting of rodents in land surrounding pathway and underpass under the A2. Rats are not living in the underpass but have been sighted there. Complainant states that rats are coming from the undergrowth and would like some form of control.
