The area is served by the Addenbrooke's Guide Bridge railway station which is on the East Coast Main Line between London and Sunderland. River boat services are available between Cambridge's leisure facilities and Fen Ditton, a settlement close to the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk border.

The area is home to various local sporting clubs and associations, including Cambridge City Football Club, Cambridge Rugby Club, and Cambridge Cycling Club. The local leisure centre is Cambridge Leisure. Other amenities in the area include the breathtaking Botanic Garden, five scenic parks, Jesus Green Lido, Lark Rise Park, The Orchard in Histon, and the Cam Waterfront Trail. In the city centre, you can find a host of tourist attractions like Anglesey Abbey, The Scott Polar Research Institute, The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, and The Fitzwilliam Museum.
