Formed in 1977 by Ian Dury to promote his album 'New Boots and Panties', the band became known as 'Ian Dury and the Blockheads', and went on to achieve success in the UK and across the globe, with their most known record arguably being 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick', which reached number one in the UK in 1979.
The band have undergone various changes in line-up over the years, but following Ian's death in March 2000, the group continued to record and perform, and now consists of Jankel, Watt-Roy, Gallagher, Turnbull, Roberts, and Lewis, with Hussey writing songs and performing lead vocals.
