FIXMYSTREET IN BN8 5EB
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BN8 5EB:
Uneven road surface, 11th April
This road surface has been like this for many years, even though you have said that you would monitor it. I have not seen anyone periodically checking. But as I live in the area I can tell that the road surface is getting worse and something needs to be done about it, we get cyclists hurtling down the road braking at this spot as it’s a bend in the road and for motorists this is also an area where they brake as they’re coming down the hill so on safety grounds it needs to be filled

Public footpath moved, 18th October
On the Sussex Ouse valley way the public footpath has moved 20-50ft from where it is meant to be. In the photos the redline is where the footpath was originally and the blue line is where it is now. In the field, they have dug a very very large hole for what seems like no reason whatsoever and the fence is not in keeping with the other fences they have around the fields this fence has barbed wire along the top. Are farmers allowed to move public rights of way when they choose to or do they need permission?

Recycling not collected, 9th October
We are on collection Thursday A. The last collection was 5th October for bn84rt but the problem is no crew came to collect our recycling bins and if you go online to the Lewes district Council website to report missed bin it makes out that you are at fault by not putting your bin out on time. There is no option to say that the bins were never collected because no one turned up. There is no email address or phone number to let someone know that they didn’t turned up empty your bin, Our next collection is the 19th October and as it takes two weeks to fill a bin and some people will have no option, but to stick their recycling in with the normal waste collection as they know that will come once a week. In the photos, most people have left their bins out, just in case you lot, turn up to empty them.

Rural road in need of repair, 5th July
If you see the photos, I think it explains itself the road is starting to fall to bits, but apparently it’s not dangerous enough to be repaired. This area where the road is breaking up is in a braking area and can be potentially be dangerous for cyclists who come down the hill at speed. This bit of road could be easily be repaired by a Velocity’s spray-injection patching machine As it will be cost-effective and the road is heavily used every day

Both junction markings, 22nd March
Both junction markings are very faded to the points that people that have travelled from Barcombe are passing the junction and going to the next one which is as a funny angle, which is more difficult to turn if there was another car turning right this is all because they can’t see the markings.

Sheet ice on road, 18th January
Today we have two accidents with cars hitting other cars on coming off the the road. One accident involved a tanker. The road is too dangerous even for pedestrians and cars. One reason for all the ice is because it is coming from a ditch where the bottom of the ditch is level with the top of the ditch and the water flows straight off the verge on to the road. But when I reported this issue the council said it was not a safety concern.

Road is impassable, 11th December
When it snows this road becomes impossible at the junction of the narrow road to the top of the hill cause I was struggling to get up the hill as the tires can’t grip the road. It will be a great help. If this road is gritted once in a while or at least you can put a grit bin on the bend by the post box, so at least we can grit it ourself when it needs to be done.

Gap between road and verge, 13th November
I have reported this before, but apparently it wasn’t deep enough, therefore not dangerous enough to be filled. Now with all the bad weather it is getting deeper to the point it can seriously damage someone’s car wheel.
