The FY5 postcode also encompasses two large secondary schools - Fleetwood High School and St Michael's Catholic High - as well as a local college; the Fleetwood Nautical Campus, which hosts a range of courses from basic seafaring qualifications to higher level maritime engineering.

In terms of green spaces, there are several parks covering various sizes and themes, such as the Memorial Garden and the Woodyard Nature Reserve. Meanwhile, for outdoor activity, the Wyre Estuary Trails provide endless miles of attractive cycling and walking routes.

In addition, the area has a thriving artistic scene, with the Fylde Gallery showcasing a variety of set-piece art exhibitions throughout the year. Additionally, Fleetwood holds an annual Folk Festival which celebrates the town's musical heritage, and there are further events such as the 'Port and Promenade' and 'Fleetwood Flyer' - a funfair ride - that bring the town to life all year round.
