Rusting Stonehaven, 4th December

Mon, 04 Dec 2023 09:57:00 +0000
56.970059 -2.206857

For weeks now, this superfluous "humps" sign has been laying on the pavement, after its base rusted away, and it fell over. I guess only pavement users will notice it, hence why it still lays there, and its sort of embarrassing really. It also begs the question, of how many other signs like this one, and the Allardice Street pedestrian crossing signs, are rusting away, and becoming a danger to those of us that use the pavements. I guess if it was on the road, it would have been dealt with by now.

Really deep pothole on junction from Bath Street to Ann Street, 16th November

Thu, 16 Nov 2023 02:23:36 +0000
56.967526 -2.211094

The position of the pothole causes cars to drive on the other side of the road to avoid it, which is dangerous considering the pothole is on a junction. If you are driving from Ann Street on to Bath street, it’s almost impossible to avoid without swerving on to the wrong lane, causing cars to cut off other cars using the lane. It’s really deep so could cause a lot of damage to a car. Not possible to get a picture safely due to location. It’s been there for several months now and has been eroded more due to heavy rainfall lately.

Cyclist & Pedestrian Path Remains Closed?, 5th September

Tue, 05 Sep 2023 15:05:41 +0100
56.991082 -2.214433

Could I ask why this path remains closed, even though no forestry work has taken place for well over a month now? There was at one time, a date on the sign, when it would re-open, this now seems to have been removed. Can I also take it that the path will be cleaned and repaired, before it re-opens, after all the damage the forestry workers have caused? I am sure if this was inconveniencing motorists, it would have been open months ago, but as usual cyclists and pedestrians are well down the pecking order when it comes to any consideration.

Road is a MAJOR Safety Hazard, 4th September

Mon, 04 Sep 2023 20:23:30 +0100
56.963164 -2.224925

As a Cyclist, the state of Thomson Terrace has been a disgrace for many years now, and now action must be taken. From the screenshot I have attached: Car coming in the opposite direction, parked cars, that according to the highway code, I should be 1 metre away from, in case a door suddenly opens, which leaves me cycling through major pot holes. This is a MAJOR safety hazard that needs addressing. Until this is fixed, I am calling for Thomson Terrace to either be closed off to traffic, or all parking should be banned. Enough is Enough.
