The area is known for its grand country homes, country estates and village churches. Tourism is also popular in the area, especially around the town of Windlesham with its impressive 15th-century parish church.

The main industries in the area include tech companies near Lightwater, farming and forestry in Chobham and Bagshot, as well as light industry and light engineering in two industrial estates in the area.

Shopping in the area centres around Bisley, Deepcut, Windlesham, Chobham, and Lightwater. Village stores, small independent retailers, garden centres, antiques shops, furniture stores, and a variety of other shops can all be found in the different towns and villages within the postcode.

Chobham is the largest village in the area and is the site of the Tank Museum, which is home to the world's longest continuously used military base. Also situated in the village is The Lavender Line, a preserved steam railway with trains that travel from Albury Heath to Chobham.

The area is served by the M3 motorway and is about 19 miles from Central London. The area has good public transport links, with a few bus routes in the area, as well as a few train lines, including the South Western Main Line, which runs through the area, and the Staines and Wokingham line, which runs from Guildford to Windsor.
