Nearby is the National Trust property of Anglesey Abbey Garden and Lode Mill.

The area is served by public transport links, with regular bus services, and the nearest train station is five miles away in March. It is also close to the A47 road, linking to Cambridge, Norwich, and the Midlands.

Local schools include Thomas Clarkson Academy, Thomas Eaton Primary School, and several primary and secondary schools, including a sixth-form college. The local Wisbech and Fenland Museum, located in the former Town Hall, is a popular attraction with a wide variety of exhibits from 17th-century documents to a 1950s post office.

The popular Flag Fen, located near the postcode area, is a unique site of archaeological importance, featuring an ancient causeway, fishponds, and a reconstructed Bronze-Age roundhouse. It is also a popular spot for bird-watching, with the Fenland Marshes and Bird Watching Centre located nearby. For outdoor activities, the area is home to several active sports clubs, playing a variety of sports, including football, rugby, squash, tennis, and badminton.

PE13 has several parks and green spaces, including City Gardens, Whittlesey Mere, and Buffalo Meadow Nature Reserve; all offering a variety of activities from walking and cycling to boating, fishing, and picnicking.

As a part of the Peterborough district in Eastern England, PE13 enjoys many events and activities throughout the year, from Christmas markets and music festivals to art exhibition and themed food nights.
