Truro (TR16)

The TR16 postcode area is located in the Truro postcode town region, within the county of Cornwall, and contains a total of 731 individual postcodes.

There are 119 electoral wards in the TR16 postcode area, including Camborne, Falmouth, Hayle, Helston, Isles Of Scilly, Marazion, Newquay, Penryn, Penzance, Perranporth, Redruth, St Agnes, St Columb, St Ives, Truro which come under the local authority of the Cornwall,Isles of Scilly Council.

The TR16 postcode is located in Cornwall, England. It is a Royal Mail postcode district which covers the towns of Redruth, Camborne, Pool and other smaller settlements, including Pengegon, Illogan and Portreath.

TR16 includes many villages and hamlets in the areas of Tywarnhayle, Illogan, Treswithian, Blowinghouse, Portreath, Pengegon, Parting Carn, Tretherras and St Day. The postcode area runs from the A30 in the north to the A394 road in the south.

The town of Redruth is the largest of the settlements in the TR16 postcode area with a population of over 18,000. It is an industrial town and is home to a number of major employers such as Asda, Synergy, Cornwall Council and the South West Ambulance Service.

Camborne is a busy market town in TR16. It has a population of around 20,000 and is an important centre for industry, including mining. The town has also been the centre of the Homeopathic movement, being home to The Father of Homeopathy, Dr A. L. C. Griffin.

The villages of Pool and Pengegon are also located in the postcode area. Pool is a small village located close to Redruth which is home to around 2,000 people. Pengegon is a small village of just 300 people that is located in the Illogan Parish.

TR16 is bordered by post code areas such as TR7, TR10, TR15 and TR17. The area is served by the A30 trunk road, as well as the A394, A393 and A3047. There are a number of bus services which run in and around the postcode area, with services operated by First Kernow, Stagecoach, National Express, Western Greyhound and Devon & Cornwall Railways.

The postcode area is also served by Newquay Cornwall Airport, which is just a short drive away. The airport provides domestic and international flights to a range of destinations. Cornwall Enterprise also operates in the area and has a number of business support initiatives.

TR16 is a postcode area with a great deal of history and is home to a number of significant locations. This includes the Treswithian Tin Moulds, which are one of the only surviving industrial buildings from the 1700s. The area is also home to several Grade-II listed buildings including Penponds House and Treswithian Hall, as well as several churches and chapels.
