The postcode also extends as far as the neighbouring parishes of Cockington, Hartland and Ipplepen.

The area benefits from a mild climate and mild winters, making it a popular holiday destination all year round. The stunning coast is lined with white sandy beaches and rock pools, as well as attractions such as Babbacombe Model Village, Kent's Cavern and Bygones. There are also a number of parks in the area, including Victoria Park, Youngs Park and Pawton's/Meadfoot Beach.

The area has plenty of historic attractions, such as Torre Abbey which was founded in 1196 and is now home to a museum and art gallery. There are also plenty of opportunities to take in the natural beauty of Torquay from the Torquay Seafront to the Waterfalls at Stover Country Park.

Living in TQ7 provides respite from city living with plenty of outdoor walking and cycling routes. The area is well connected to the national road network with the A380 connecting to the M5 Motorway and major cities such as Exeter and Plymouth, while Torquay train station is a key stop on the line from Exeter to Paignton.
