These include West Peckham, East Peckham, Golden Green, East Malling, West Malling, Addington, Plaxtol, Sole Street, Kemsing and Offham. Its borders resemble a irregular Y shape, with the east, south and west areas of the postcode all converging near the M25.

The TN39 district has a variety of residential and commercial properties. It offers an eclectic mix of retail outlets, high street banks, restaurants, pubs and cafes. It is also home to a variety of services and businesses, such as hairdressers, plumbers, decorators and automotive dealerships. In addition, there are also several primary and secondary schools in the TN39 district.

Recreational areas include the Tonbridge Indoor Swimming Pool, Tonbridge Skate Park and Tonbridge Puzzle Park, a large adventure playground run by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. There are also several cycle routes in the area, taking in views of the local countryside and surrounding villages. The nearby Penshurst Place Estate also offers a number of footpaths and trails.

Finally, TN39 is served by several bus routes, as well as the London Midland commuter train line. There is a local station at Marden, for trains running to London Bridge, London Cannon Street, Hastings, Ashford International and beyond.
