SA5 is a postcode district in the Swansea postcode area of South Wales. It mainly covers the area to the north and west of the City of Swansea, specifically the western part of Gower, the villages of Cockett, Penyrheol, Waunarlwydd, Gorseinon, Pontarddulais, and the towns of Loughor and Gowerton.

The Gower Peninsula National Nature Reserve, which is managed by the National Trust and the Countryside Council for Wales, is located within SA5. There are attractive coastal walks, coves and sandy beaches at Port Eynon, Horton, Rhossili and Mewslade.

The area is well known for the seaside resorts of Swansea Bay and Gower, which attract visitors from all over the country. The award-winning Gower Golf Club, located on Gower's stunning coastline, is one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales.

SA5 includes many rural villages, such as Burry Green, Gowerton, Hendy, Llangyfelach, Penclawdd, Pontarddulais, Pontardawe, Rhos, and Ynysforgan. The ward of Gower was named after the Gower peninsula, which is known for its stunning landscapes, quiet beaches and meadows. The area also contains a number of ancient monuments, including cellars in the hills of Llangyfelach, Penclawdd, Penyrheol, Pontardawe, Pontarddulais and Swansea, and burial mounds in the hills of Llangyfelach and Penclawdd.

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Wales' newest university, is located within the SA5 area. The campus occupies two sites, at Swansea Bay and Gower College Swansea. Situated in 68 acres of countryside, the University has a range of facilities, including laboratories, lecture theatres, library and research spaces, sports and leisure facilities, and student residences.

SA5 also hosts the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, which celebrates the story of industry, invention and innovation in Wales. It houses a range of interactive galleries, as well as the Digital Lantern Picture House, a 3D theatre, and the Wales Coast-to-Coast Cycle Route.

Furthermore, the area is home to Britain's first floating cinema and education centre. The vessel, named Fatherscape, is based in Mumbles near Swansea and sails around Gower and the South Wales coast. It provides an alternative home to cinema and education programmes from all over the world.

SA5 is well connected by transport links, including the National Express coach stop at Fabian Way and Swansea railway station. Swansea London City Airport is also located within easy reach, and serves a range of destinations in the UK and Europe.
