SA40 is a postcode district located within the Swansea post town in Wales, situated North West of Swansea City Centre. The district covers an area of roughly 4.82 square miles (12.50 sq km) and includes the settlements and nearby villages of Pantyffynnon, Glanamman, Garnant, Llandybie and Rhosamman.

The area is known for the large Welsh-medium comprehensive school Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr in Llandybie, which attracts students from across the region.

SA40 is bordered to the west and south by postcodes SA18 and SA37 respectively, and to the east and north by postcodes SA14 and SA39. It is made up of two postcode sectors, SA4 0 and SA4 9, with the 0 covering most of the district including Garnant, Glanamman and Pantyffynnon.

The postcode district has a population of 12,964, with 4,097 households distributed evenly across the district. SA40 is renowned for its rural landscape, featuring rolling hills and farmland decorated with a beautiful array of wild flowers during the spring and summer.

The average house price for the area is currently £153,280, rising from an average of £130,669 in 2019.

The local economy is mainly centred around retail, with several shopping complexes, including the Pantyffynnon Shopping Park, to serve the district. Pantyffynnon also has an array of restaurants and fast food outlets.

The area is served by two railway stations, Pantyffynnon and Rhosamman, which link to various destinations in Swansea, Cardiff and nearer afield, such as Pembrey Country Park.

The A474 and A483 are the main roads that serve the area, providing through links to neighbouring postcode districts and beyond. The region is accessible by bus too, with several routes travelling to the city centre, and with direct services to a number of other places, including Carmarthen and Newcastle Emlyn.

This area is sparsely population and there is room for everyone. People are welcome and helped. The local council has people who answer the phone, in 15 minites, and listen. Doctors give face to face appointments. There is an abundance of green spaces.
