RM8 is an area in Dagenham, located in east London, England. It is a suburban area covering several residential and industrial areas as well as crime-ridden streets. It is within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and lies 6.6 miles (10.6 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross.

RM8 is primarily a residential area featuring many Victorian and Edwardian terraced streets. The area also contains modern houses, large council estates, some low-rise apartment buildings and urban parks. Local businesses include a range of small independent shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as larger stores, including a supermarket and some larger franchises.

The postcode for RM8 is RM8 2DA. It includes the eastern part of Becontree and the southern part of Rush Green as well as the streets of Estuary View, Lord Street, and Ripple Road. The busiest area of the district is located around Heathway Station while the busiest bus depot is located to the east of the district.

Due to its relatively high unemployment rate, RM8 is considered an area of deprivation relative to the area's income and standard of living. Despite this, its crime rate has improved significantly since 2011.

Within the district of RM8 is Chadwell Heath, home to Belisha Uplands, a park that provides leisure for locals. The park contains a cafe, equipment for playing ball games, outdoor gym equipment, a sk8 area, a lake and a children's play area.

Nearby is Mayesbrook Park for which the local authority has pledged to add better lighting, resurface paths and create a series of ponds. It also contains one of the few surviving areas of ancient mature oak woodland, as well as other native species of tree.

RM8 also contains the Becontree Heath Leisure Centre, which offers many activities such as swimming, rugby, football, badminton, squash and cricket. As well as sport, the centre also provides community services such as day care for young people, family activities, youth clubs and children's parties.

There are a few used car showrooms and shopping centres near RM8, such as Freightworld, a warehouse superstore and Wickes in Dagenham, and the Barking and Dagenham U Drive Car Showroom.

Finally, RM8 is also well-connected via public transport; its tube station is Dagenham Heathway and there are numerous bus routes, providing residents with easy access to other parts of London.
