Crossing lights keep changing to red., 16th August

Thu, 16 Aug 2018 21:13:28 +0100

Yet again the problem has arisen with the Liebenrood Road lights. It is the same one that keeps happening where you turn left out of Liebenrood Road the separate crossing light just past the junction on the A4 turns to red on it's own accord with no pedestrian intervention. It is happening every time you exit left out of Liebenrood Road & if you observe them for a while you can see them keep changing to red every approx 30 seconds. These whole lights have been nothing but a problem since their "refurbishment" earlier this year. Another "issue" now with these is that when the right hand filter goes to green to allow traffic to turn right into Liebenrood Road off the A4, the " straight on" filter goes to red. Totally no explanation for this as there is no conflicting traffic movement to prevent vehicles carrying straight on the A4. Again this has only started since this so called "refurbishment". It is a shame that that things weren't just left alone as there were not issues beforehand. The whole things need scrapping & the mini roundabout replaced.

Fri, 10 Aug 2018 10:05:12 +0100

When are the roadworks in Wensley Road going to be completed? For several days there have been two sections of road coned off on one side (one by Shaw Road and the other by Carsdale Close). They look as if they may become sleeping policemen and are causing unwarranted delays. Could the guys just finish the job please? Why couldnít they just complete the job in a timely manner? Is this part of the Local Improvemet plan? That was due to start Months ago according to the signs but there has been no visible action since they were put up.

Width restriction on Norcot Road downhill is worn and damaged., 1st August

Wed, 01 Aug 2018 20:28:40 +0100

Width restriction is in a poor state. The bells are worn and appear to have moved reducing the width. As a result many cars are rubbing the metal bells causing damage to the bells and car tyres. The Tarmac between the bells is broken up and potholes form further restricting the width. Cars that could negotiate the restriction safely are now making contact on both sides of the width restriction. If the metal of the bells wear through they will cause severe damage to car tyres. In its current state the restriction downhill is dangerous and not fit for purpose..

Continuation of my original problem, 29th July

Sun, 29 Jul 2018 22:52:10 +0100

A little while ago my whole block of flats suffered from hearing a noisy pedestrian crossing as it was beeping for 30 seconds, every time it was used, all day and throughout the night. This caused great upset and disturbance as it was very audible even with the windows shut. Reading Borough Council were quick to respond to the original report and we could no longer hear it at all. For that we are extremely grateful. However, after a relaxing weekend away, we return to the flat and the same incessant beeping has resumed. It's very detrimental to my mental health. Reading Borough Council, what you did before we excellent. Please do it again and mute the pedestrian crossings along Bath Road. Many thanks.
