RG27 is an area of diverse landscapes and is made up of rural land, urban areas, woodland and water bodies. It is situated close to the M3 motorway and has good transport links to nearby cities. The postcode has a number of local shops, schools, leisure facilities and amenities.

The area is home to two small airports both located in Odiham, offering both private and commercial flights. It is also close to Farnborough Airfield, which offers an aviation museum, flight trials and air shows.

The area includes a number of historic buildings, including the historic churches of Odiham, Mattingley and Wintney, the Bramshill Country House and the ruins of Odiham Castle. The area also includes two renowned golf courses, the Wildwood in Church Crookham and the Yateley Manor Golf & Country Club in Yateley.

The district of Hart is bordered to the east by the districts of East Hampshire and Rushmoor; to the south and southwest by the district of Basingstoke and Deane; and to the north and northwest by the district of Wokingham. It is located approximately 15 miles southwest of the city of London.

The RG27 postcode has a range of wildlife, including a diverse range of species such as badgers, rabbits, foxes and other small mammals. In addition, the area is known for its extensive network of public footpaths, bridleways and byways, as well as numerous fishing lakes and an extensive network of waterways.

The area is very popular with birdwatchers, with a range and diversity of birds and wildlife species found in RG27. In the woods, common species found include great spotted woodpeckers, jays, and buzzards. Other species found in the area include owls, herons, kingfishers and (in the spring) warblers. The area is also home to a wide range of butterflies.

The larger urban areas around the RG27 postcode have a population of approximately 52,000 people, with the larger villages and towns such as Odiham, Yateley, and Fleet each having populations of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 people.

Educationally, the area offers a wide range of educational facilities, including primary and secondary schools, and colleges. One of the most recognised schools in the area is Barfield School, which was founded in 1922.
