Osborne House, Queen Victoria's former holiday home, is also located within the postal district. The house and the surrounding gardens are popular tourist attractions. In addition to this, there are several ferry terminals in PO30, including those to Ryde Pier, Fishbourne, and Southampton.

This area is a popular holiday destination due to the mild climate, the picturesque beaches, and the easy access to the Isle of Wight's attractions. There are a number of golf clubs in the area, and the renowned Osborne Golf Centre. The beaches of Ryde and East Cowes can be enjoyed on foot, by bicycle, and by boat.

There is plenty of choice when it comes to dining in the PO30 district, with a range of traditional pubs, seafood restaurants, and specialist eateries. A number of events are held throughout the year, including the Moondance Festival, the Cowes Dinghy Regatta, and the Aberdeen Asset Cowes Week sailing event.

Education in the PO30 area is catered for by the well-regarded Cowes Primary school, East Cowes Primary school and Whitehouse secondary school. There is also an active community centre, a local library, and several local sports clubs, all of which are popular with the locals.

Although PO30's population is small, it is steadily growing as people recognise the appeal of living in such a scenic environment close to the sea. It is a vibrant community with plenty to offer, and is an increasingly popular place to live and visit.
