There is also a traditional country pub with restaurant, The Rising Sun, offering meals and real ales.

The area also has a selection of places to stay, including a family-run bed and breakfast, as well as a campsite located in a riverside meadow offering views of the nearby castle. Local attractions include a range of shops, pubs, tea rooms, and the fascinating Lost Gardens of Heligan, a restored Edwardian estate with tunnels and gardens.

The PL18 postcode area is also home to a selection of local sports clubs, including the Lostwithiel Cycle Club and Lostwithiel Tennis Club, while there are a range of walking and cycling routes available in the local area. The area is well served by rail connections, with a number of mainline rail services stopping in nearby Bodmin Parkway Station.
