Glenburn is a residential area situated on the fringe of Paisley, a former burgh. It is the site of an historic church and is a popular place for walks in the nearby Boglily Wood. The village was served by a railway station which was opened in 1867 and closed in 1951. It offers good access to the nearby towns of Renfrew and Johnstone, as well as to Glasgow city centre.

Paisley itself is situated on the northern edge of the Scottish lowlands, on the banks of the River Cart, and is home to Scotland's second-largest shopping centre, the Paisley Centre. The town also has a vibrant nightlife with a variety of pubs, clubs and live music venues, and hosts the annual PaisleySound Festival. The town has a rich history and contains a number of impressive architectural features.

The PA71 postcode has excellent transport links to the city of Glasgow, with direct buses and trains from both Glenburn and Paisley, as well as a number of main road connections.
