LS25 is predominantly a suburban settlement built around the towns of Kippax and Allerton Bywater. Kippax is a historic village on the south bank of the Aire and Calder Navigation which today has a good range of amenities in the town centre including local shops, pubs, restaurants, banks and church. Allerton Bywater has a long, historic heritage and is home to a beautiful, Grade II listed Manor House as well as the locally listed Allerton Bywater Hall which is today used as a venue for public and private events.

The postcode is an important economic hub, particularly for the service industry, with a number of new business parks being developed in recent years. These have included White Rose Business Park, which is home to a number of companies, and Thorpe Park, the business park created as part of the Leeds Supertram project, which is home to a broad mix of firms from all sectors.

LS25 also has a good range of leisure and recreational activities, from cycling and running routes to an extensive public park and outdoor sports facilities, and a variety of walking trails. The area has long been associated with its water-based activities, and these can be enjoyed at the nearby Anglers Country Park and Reservoir.

The postcode is served by the M1 and M62 motorways, and it is located close to the Leeds Bradford International Airport, giving it excellent transport links to the wider region and to London. It is also connected to the North Yorkshire and Selby districts by the A162 road.

LS25 has seen a surge in house prices in recent years, with average property values rising from around £115,000 to over £125,000. This has been spurred by an array of new-build homes and improvements to existing homes in the postcode. LS25 is a great commuter base for Leeds and a pleasant, affordable place to live.
