In terms of cultural attractions, the town centre is home to the Tennent's Brewery Visitor Centre, which provides a great insight into the history of beer-making in Scotland, as well as a number of independent shops and cafes. Kirkcaldy's beachfront area is one of Scotland's most popular seaside resorts, and offers plenty of activities such as swimming, sailing and fishing, as well as a great view of the Firth of Forth.

As a region of Fife, it is home to a number of arts venues such as the Adam Smith Theatre, music venues and galleries. The town centre is home to a number of popular annual events such as the Fife Jazz Festival and the East Neuk Festival, as well as a range of traditional shows and markets.

The nearby rural areas of KY10 offer plenty of walks and cycle routes through the countryside, as well as a number of high-standard golf courses. The historic town of Dysart is home to the oldest harbour town in Scotland, as well as a range of historical buildings and quiet streets. Further afield, the area is home to Linktown and Pathhead Nature Reserve, which offer a great opportunity for wildlife spotting.
