The area is best known as the home of English Rugby, and is where the national Twickenham Stadium, home of the England Rugby Union team (as well as other major sporting and music events), is situated. It also hosts many other rugby related events, such as the annual Rugby Sevens tournament, as well as the annual Stoop Six Nations tournament.

The area is also home to several other attractions including St Mary's Church, the oldest religious building in the borough, Fulwell Windmill, the oldest windmill in Britain, and Bushy Park, one of London's Royal Parks, containing a range of outdoor activities including cycling and jogging as well as boating and fishing on the River Thames.

TW12 also has a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars. The area is served by numerous bus and train services, and is within easy reach of Central London via the nearby Hounslow West and Twickenham stations. It is also well connected to other suburbs in the area via the A316 and A305 roads.

The area has seen a surge in development in recent years, as more and more people are drawn to the area to take advantage of its many amenities. This in turn has seen house prices increase, and TW12 is now one of the most expensive postcodes in the area. There are also plenty of green spaces, parks and nature reserves, making it an attractive place to live.
