Educationally, the area is served by Ridings Primary School, Stainland Primary School, Shelf Junior and Infant School, and Birdwell Primary School. For secondary education, HX7 is home to Calder High School and The Crossley Heath School.
HX7 also has a range of leisure facilities, with parks such as Fairweather Green and Booth Wood Local Nature Reserve at its disposal. Elland Sports Centre is located on the south side of the postcode, providing activities and facilities such as sports coaching and outdoor play.
HX7 is a vibrant and diverse postcode area, with a good mix of housing, services and leisure activities. It remains a popular place to live and work, and residents often enjoy taking part in the many community events, ranging from art festivals to summer carnivals.
