The area is well connected by road links. The M9 motorway runs by the district, providing direct access to Edinburgh and Glasgow which are both approximately forty minutes away. Falkirk Grahamston station, a major rail link between Glasgow and Edinburgh, also falls within the FK3 postcode.

FK3 postcode is served by a range of shops, including large supermarkets, local newsagents and convenience stores. It is also home to a handful of traditional pubs, popular takeaways and restaurants. The Howgate Shopping Centre is a large retail complex close to the centre of Falkirk which houses shops, eateries, banks, and a large Sainsbury's store.

The district is served by a number of schools, including Callendar Park Primary, St Joseph's RC Primary, Dunipace Primary, and Graeme High School. There are a few hospitals and healthcare facilities located in and around Falkirk, such as Larbert Primary Care Centre, Falkirk Community Hospital, and Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The area is a popular with homebuyers due to its stunning scenery, proximity to amenities, and good transport links. Property prices tend to be still more affordable relative to other areas in central Scotland.
