Littleham is an historic hamlet that lies between Lympstone and Exmouth, which is currently being developed.

Exton is a small village located in the south-east of the Exeter district next to the M5 motorway. There is a primary school, a village shop and a church. Exmouth is a popular seaside resort located at the mouth of the Exe Estuary. It boasts a range of tourist attractions including award winning beaches, a marina, a shopping centre and a pier. Budleigh Salterton is a small coastal village that is popular amongst retirees. The village has a well-known art gallery, an 18th century church and a variety of shops.

Woodbury and Woodbury Salterton are two distinct villages situated on the eastern side of the Exe Estuary. Woodbury is the largest village in the Exeter district with a range of shops, pubs and a primary school. Woodbury Salterton is a semi-rural village popular amongst those looking for a quieter way of life. It has a village store, a pub and a church.

In terms of transport links, the Exeter district is well served. The A379 and A376 link the regional towns and cities including Plymouth and Exeter while the M5 motorway is accessible at the junction of Exeter and Exton. Exmouth railway station provides regular services throughout the region.
