There are traditional shops, groceries, restaurants and pubs, as well as many convenience stores. Currie Church garden centre is located in the area for those looking for horticultural supplies.

One of the most popular attractions of the postcode is the Currie Tower built in 1409. This historic building stands high above the village and its grounds are open to the public. The tower is now a museum showcasing the area's rich history and the battles of WWII.

EH13 also contains several renowned golf courses. Kingsknowes and Turnhouse are two of the most popular spots for local golfers and are always busy.

The area is also home to one of Edinburgh's most notable pet friendly attractions - the Scottish National Zoological Park. The extensive grounds provide a wide range of habitats for animal conservation, as well as plenty of family activities including canoeing services on the Water of Leith.
