Chandlers Ford is the largest of the village centres, with amenities such local shops, restaurants, churches, schools and a Leisure Centre. With the River Itchen flowing through this area, there are plenty of waterways for keen anglers, and local beauty spots to explore.
Education options in the area range from infant and nursery schools, to primary schools such as St Swithuns and Hiltingbury Junior School, and further secondary schools such as Thornden Secondary School. There are also several specialists education settings within the area.
The SO50 postcode is also well serviced by various transport links. There are regular bus services with stops at Allbrook, Bishopstoke and Colden Common, while Hursley Road and Allbrook stations are both on the Southampton to Winchester mainline. There is also access to the M3 from junction 13 to Winchester and Bournemouth, and Southampton Airport is under 10 miles away.
For local leisure activities, there are many parks and green areas to explore, such as Eastleigh's North Walls Recreation Ground, Winchester's South Walls open space, Hargerstones Recreation Ground and Luscombe's Meadow. Additionally, there are golf courses, bowling clubs, tennis courts, a leisure centre in Chandlers Ford and opportunities to take part in sailing and canoeing in the surrounding waters. The Ageas Bowl is also nearby, hosting a host of sport, music and entertainment events throughout the year.
